This is my 1971 ford maverick grabber. It is an origional grabber. Not a copy. I bought it from a man in New Mexico. The car was very origional and rust free, but it had alot of dents. The worst was in the front of the hood. A long time freind and I removed all chrome and glass and tried to remove as many dents as possible. The right rear corner was pushed in very bad also. We both worked very hard to reshape that area. Then the spoiler end cap would'nt fit. So I had to find a replacement. Parts for this car are very hard to come by. Not like a Mustang or Camaro. Then I helped another freind prep and paint the car yellow pearl from a 350z Nissan. It was very close to the origional color with a little bling. I made sure that everything in this car works, including the factory ac! I upgraded the front brakes to disc using a later model maverick donor. The seat cover inserts have been changed but the rest of the covers are oe. The carpet and the headliner are oe. I did have to change the heater core, water pump, fuel pump, balancer and all the hoses to keep it road worthy. So the drivetrain is basicaly stock. It does have dual flowmaster exhaust and American Racing Torque Thrust II's. I must admit I am a mechanic, but I was five when these cars came out.Everything was done in my garage except the paint! I feel it was still a challenge to restore this car. It's alot of fun to have the only one at the show! Vote for me!
