This is my 1968 Chevelle. I have had this car for 16 years now. The car sat in the garage for a while after I got it because I was building a 1969 Camaro. Once I started working on the Chevelle, it took me about 2 years to finish restoration on it. This car became my race car. In 2002 my son's teacher asked me if I could do some work on his car. I agreed to restore his 1972 Cutlass in my garage which meant that my Chevelle had to be out in the backyard. One night while sleeping I woke up to a popping noise in the backyard. It was the slicks exploding because the car was on fire. We never figured out who torched the car but the damage was overwhelming. There was no insurance on the car so all of the expenses to fix it came right out of pocket for the second time. We started work on the Chevelle about a year after this happened. We just got done with the car about two years ago and it's finally back to its original state before the fire. This past Christmas I passed the Chevelle down to my son so that he can start racing with it just like I used to. We now go to the track together to race and it has become a family outing almost every weekend.
