I'm Zach, 20 years old and this is my '70 Chevelle. I got it back in 2003 as a project car to build with my dad. I was 14 at the time and planned to have the majority of the restoration done before my 16th birthday, so I could drive it to high school. We started by getting the drivetrain in working order with a fresh small block 400, turbo 400 trans and 12 bolt rear. Over the past 6 years this engine has had numerous head, cam and piston combinations, because I was always searching for more power. After the drivetrain we started on the body and interior. The majority of the restoration was completed a few weeks before my 16th birthday. I drove it all through high school and had a blast. Having built this car with my dad and spending nearly every dime I had on it insured that I was going to take care of it. My friends laugh at me, because I don't like to drive it in the rain. Although, I'm protective of it, I still stretch the Chevelle's legs from time to time. I plan to hit the track this spring and I'm looking for high 11s. The great thing about this car is that it's a continuous project. I will always find something to upgrade, repair or tune on it and that's why I love it. I'm in college now, but once I graduate I plan to build a scary fast big block and drive the hell out of it. One thing I can guarantee is that I will never sell this car. I plan to drive it until I'm old and gray and pass it down to my future children. Specs: It has a 500 horse small block 408, backed by a turbo 400 trans, 12 bolt rear with 3.55 gears.
