This is what ford and Mazda should have built in the mid 80’s. It’s cross between a 1984 Mazda rx-7 gsl-se and 1986 ford muker xr4ti.I call it a ford rx4ti it’s a ongoing restoration or project (are they ever really finished) With a tight budget I pieced together two old cars into what you see in the pictures. It’s undergone many changes over the years. The Engine, the turbo, more than one time, the head, the hood scoop to name a few things. It currently has a rebuilt 2.3 with speed pro pistons ,stock rods and crank . head studs with stock turbo head with big valve upgrade, turbo roller cam from racer Walsh with adjustable timing gear. Turbo is a t3/t4 good for about 20lbs or so of boost. stock t-birb intercooler and ecu.The transmission believe it or not is the stock c-5 auto from the murker and it’s still hanging in there. Stock rx-7 rear end with 4:11 gears and 4 wheel disk brakes wraps up the drive train. Ebach springs and tokico adjustable shocks at all four corners and bfg drag radials out back to hook it all up. It has run 8.13 in a 1/8 mile. It also has some neat tricks inside the car too, like the boost gauge made into the rear view mirror,a/f meter, fuel pressure guage, manual adjustable boost controller and a shot of NOS to take care of any turbo lag. Now that it’s almost done, even on my worst day this car can put a smile on my face.enjoy the pictures and if you like what you see give me a vote.
