This car was a basket case that was in primer when bought. All the stainless mouldings were missing, so thru various salvage yard trips we located all the mouldings and many other missing items. The car was striped back down to bare metal, door handles shaved ,hood nosed, problem areas repaired. Wash primer ,epoxy primer,1st coat primer surfacer applied. Rear floor pans cut out and replaced, floors coated with por15 paint. Our goal this summer since I'm only able to work when tempeture allows, get nailhead motor and trans out to rebuild, install a disc brake conversion to front, new master cylinder & booster, remove fuel tank and seal inside reinstall tank, hopefully have running by summers end. The colors of the Buick chosen are House of Kolor Kosmos Red on the top half, Black below side stainless mouldings that my wife picked out at Back to the 50s in Minnesota, she saw a 56 Buick painted in these colors a block away and said these are the colors for the 57. I know the pictures dont show much differance from before to after but stripping the 57 back to bare metal and bringing back up with foundation products as to know what I have under the color was a fair amount of work.
